Service Work in Mexico

EXCHANGE PROGRAM

As Americans, it’s easy to take our comfortable lives for granted. However, in Agua Prieta (link to map) our volunteers discover a world very different from their own. That’s why we built the “Exchange Dormitory”.

Each year, more than 1,000 volunteers stay in the on-site dorm and perform service work in the barrios (hood, “ghetto” neighborhood). Here they feed their souls with purpose and gain a new appreciation for their own fortunate lives. They carry this awareness back across the border to help reweave the moral fabric of our own communities. It’s a profound experience and many return year after year. Since 1987 we have facilitated over 20,000 volunteer visits.

We have found that being “in service” has a positive, powerful impact, both on the volunteers and the people they assist. Come join us in Mexico and see for yourself!
